What a fantastic day! I had the privilege of attending this amazing learning experience! The seminars/tastings were informative, enjoyable, and yes, quite tasty!
First on the agenda was the presentation from the Consorzio Della Denominazione San Gimignano… known for their wines made with the varietal vernaccia I fell in love with these wines!! I also loved the description -“You can tell when the grapes are ripe because they get freckled!” From one freckle face to another- love it! The crispness, bright acidity, almond, almost “saline” characteristics of these wines make them mouthwatering wonderful!
Next were the amazing Vino Nobile di Montepulciano. I love the wines made with sangiovese. How exciting to be able to taste so many quality ( DOC and DOCG) wines at one time. The beautiful color, the flavors, the complexity… we definitely were spoiled.
After lunch there was an open tasting. The best part was meeting the winemakers and seeing the excitement in their eyes when they describe their wines. I need to put Italy on my vacation /business trip list!!
Here are a few more pictures from this truly delightful day! Cheers!
